PDG Chew Ghim Bok
Organising Chair,
2021 Singapore Rotary Institute

A very warm welcome to our official website which provides information and updates on the 2021 Singapore Rotary Institute.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, last year the 2020 Singapore Rotary Institute had to be conducted online. Everyone was disappointed that we were unable to meet physically. Nobody would have envisaged that the is still ravaging in many parts of the world with new variants of the virus.

The RI Board during its May 2021 meeting, considered and agreed that: to better guide Rotarians in their Rotary-related travel as pandemic threats continue to change and more communities adjust their pandemic restrictions, and to ensure the safety of all participants in Rotary programs, meetings, and events, made several amendments to its travel policy, including agreeing that virtual or hybrid meetings should continue to be implemented.

With RI Board’s recommendation, together with the Convenor, the Organising Committee decided that the 2021 Rotary Institute will be held virtually from 3 December to 5 December 2021.

The Institute is an annual event that brings together past, present and future district governors and senior leaders from Zones 1B, 9, 10A, 10B and 10C to share information, exchange ideas about Rotary International (RI) and The Rotary Foundation (TRF) and build new connections and fortify old ones. Before the Institute commences on 3 December 2021, there will be Governors-Elect Training Seminar (GETS), Governors-Nominee Training Seminar (GNTS), District Trainers Training Seminar (DTTS), Regional Rotary Foundation Seminar (RRFS), Governors-Elect Spouse Training Seminar and Council on Legislation (COL) Training Seminar. This event also offers Rotarians a good opportunity to learn from one another, make new friends and deepen existing relationships.

Leveraging on last year’s learning experience, my organising committee is already working hard to plan the program by having interesting speakers and discussions.

The Organising Committee hopes you will continue to support this important annual event. Meanwhile, please stay safe and take care.
